Handcrafted earrings, from studs to statement pieces

Earrings are often the most worn piece of jewellery in someone's collection. Studs that go in every morning. Hoops for the weekend. Drops for dinner out. Statement pieces saved for the big occasions. We make all of them, by hand, at the Glenelg bench.

Studs

The everyday workhorse. Diamond studs in particular are among the most-given gifts at Wishart, for milestone birthdays, anniversaries, and as graduation or wedding-day gifts. We make studs in:

  • Round brilliant diamonds, the classic choice. Available in sizes from 0.10ct upwards.

  • Coloured stone studs in sapphire, ruby, emerald and tourmaline.

  • Pearl studs, with freshwater, Akoya and South Sea options.

  • Mixed-metal options for those who want something different from a standard four-claw setting.

Settings range from minimal four-claw to bezel, halo, and martini settings, each with a different look and feel.

Drops and dangles

Drop earrings sit below the earlobe, with movement and presence. Particularly suited to:

  • Wedding-day jewellery, especially with up-styled hair

  • Black-tie occasions

  • Mother-of-the-bride and mother-of-the-groom pieces

  • Significant gifts (milestone anniversaries, decade birthdays)

We design drops at every length from short half-inch movement up to chandelier-style pieces.

Hoops

Hoops are quietly one of the most flattering and versatile earring styles, and they're enjoying a resurgence in handcrafted form. Our hoops range from small huggies that sit close to the lobe, to medium gold and white gold hoops for everyday wear, to substantial diamond-set hoops for occasions. Hand-formed, hand-finished, and substantially heavier and more durable than mass-produced equivalents.

Statement and bespoke earrings

If you've got an idea, a stone, or a piece of jewellery you'd like remodelled into earrings, this is where the workshop really earns its keep. Custom earring commissions might include:

  • Reworking an old necklace into a pair of statement drops

  • Designing earrings to match an existing engagement or dress ring

  • A pair of singular statement earrings using inherited stones

  • Wedding-day earrings designed to complement the dress

The process is the same as for a custom ring. Consultation, design, scale drawing, manufacture.

Single-earring replacement

Lost one of a precious pair? We can often recreate the missing earring. Bring the surviving one in, and our jeweller will match the design, metal and stone as closely as possible. It's one of the more satisfying jobs we do.
